“You'll be surprised how far you can go!”
Reason for Joining:
In 2017, my old CrossFit gym closed due to the owners moving and I tried out multiple gyms in the area but I found that CFSH had one of the better communities and spaces in Austin. I was nervous walking into CFSH for the first time, there’s a lot of people and you don’t know anyone. However, all the coaches were so welcoming and friendly. Now when I walk through the doors at CFSH I feel confident and relaxed coming into the gym. Confident knowing that I can scale workouts based on my threshold. Whether I am tired or just a hard day at work, I feel comfortable knowing I can just come in and get a solid workout. I also feel relaxed knowing that there are so many good people here that are easy going and fun. CrossFit is the one part of my day that I can release my stress, feel accomplished and know that I'll be back again tomorrow.
Enjoy About Membership:
CrossFit for me has positively impacted my life for sure. I started CrossFit back in October 2014, and it taught me to work calmly under pressure. Hearing that 3...2...1... I've learned to take a deep breath and push myself in a controlled, paced manner. That has translated into my life where I've learned to manage expectations, do the best I can, and focus on regular progress rather than being hard on myself. Plus, CFSH helped me connect with my best friend and first dog, Rogue. I can honestly say, both he and CrossFit keep me happy and sane.
Learn About Yourself:
I come back to CFSH day after day because of my own personal growth. We all have our ups and downs. We all continue to get older. CrossFit allows me to better understand my body and my mind. I can better adapt to anything and everything, and I love being able to work on my weaknesses and set new goals. Also, CrossFit has been that one constant in my life for the last several years. Regardless of the changes in my life, relationships, work, travel, etc., CrossFit was there for me. I am forever grateful to find a community where I can be around friends and a new chosen family.
Advice to Prospect:
For anyone nervous who is nervous to give CrossFit a try I’d tell them "You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great." - Zig Ziglar. We all have fears and anxieties and reasons to not do something. Every time you take a step, you've made progress forward. Relax, trust the process, and take one step at a time. You'll be surprised how far you can go!
