CrossFit is an opportunity to invest in yourself daily. You are setting aside an hour to focus on you, your health, and to launch yourself forward with the full support of a like-minded community behind you.
I had been going to a gym and running, but these activities had gotten kind of stale. I didn’t feel very excited to do them and therefore wasn’t going as often as I wanted to. I was looking for something new to get me excited about fitness again.
I was initially drawn to CrossFit since it reminded me of some of the community I had in the military with fitness -pushing each other, the competition, and the camaraderie.
Honestly, I was very nervous before our first few classes. I do not like going outside of my comfort zone and trying new things
On August 20, 2011, I stepped into my first CrossFit box, and it honestly changed my life.
I felt motivated to keep coming back because no one was judging me – they were all pushing me to do my best no matter how slow I was at movements or running.
The best workout I can do is one where I am pushing myself, whether or not it is scaled or I finish every rep. I realized fitness isn’t all-or-nothing, but made by progress every day.
Before CrossFit I was a member at a traditional gym trying out classes or doing my own thing and never really getting into it. I would always come up with excuses to not go or get discouraged because I never felt like I was getting any results.
