What to Expect at CFSH

At CFSH you are part of a community. Our community is full of individuals from all walks of life who all share a common goal: having fun with fitness. Each class begins with a dynamic warm-up (stretching, mobility, activating those muscles) then flows into the skill/strength portion and then we finish with the WOD (workout of the day).

CrossFit is “constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity”. So what does that mean? It means that every day when you walk into the box it will be something different than the day before. It means that you’ll do things you never imagined yourself doing and that you’ll constantly get better at things that were once difficult for you. It means you’ll have more flexibility and move with a little more pep in your step. It means you’ll have more energy and more self-confidence. It’s means you’ll be learning new things and pushing yourself beyond what you thought you were capable of.

You’ll get to experience this every time you come into the box. You’ll be in a class setting with other members who are there to encourage and support you and your journey. You’ll get to work with our amazing coaching staff as we guide you through the class to ensure safety and effectiveness based on your individual needs.

You can expect to experience a learning curve when starting CrossFit. You’re going to be doing movements and lifts you’ve never done before. Another thing that makes CrossFit so great is that movements can be scaled to be the best and safest fit for YOU. Patience is key during these learning curves. We focus on the mechanics and consistency then we crank up the intensity!

So grab your workout clothes and shoes and make sure to bring lots of water. Get ready for one of the best decisions you’ve ever made. 3...2...1...GO

Box Etiquette

  • CFSH is all community!: Greet newcomers, high-five fellow athletes, introduce yourself, extend your hand in friendship, cheer others on. Finished the WOD? Awesome! Cheer on your fellow athletes. We’ll all put up our equipment when everyone is done. We’re all in this together...you’re not done until everyone is done!
  • Arrive early: Get to the box early. This gives you a chance to mobilize, talk to the coach, meet someone new and get pumped for the workout! The warm-up is crucial and we want you to get every minutes worth!
  • Register & check-in for class: Reserve your spot in class here and check-in when you get to the box. If you signed up but are unable to attend, cancel the registration as soon as possible to open that spot for another athlete.
  • Respect the equipment: DO NOT DROP EMPTY BARBELLS, dumbbells or kettlebells.
  • Let the coaches coach: Regardless if you’ve been doing CrossFit for years or it’s your first week, listen to your coach’s instruction. They may be going over points of performance, how to manage your space for safety during the workout or giving pointers to another member that you could benefit from. Wait for the coach to wrap up before grabbing your equipment.
  • Be honest: Count every rep and hold yourself accountable to CrossFit standards no matter how long it takes. What joy is there in a victory you didn’t earn?
  • Check your ego at the door: Slow down, ask questions, ask for help and accept help. Lifelong fitness is a marathon, not a sprint. We promote effectiveness and safety for all movements with all members. Remember: mechanics, consistency then intensity.
  • Clean up: When you and your fellow athletes are finished with the WOD, wipe down and return your equipment. Help us keep CFSH clean and pristine!
  • Have fun: The most important part! Show up, work hard, cheer others on and keep a positive attitude. You’ll make lifelong friends here while improving your health and getting stronger!

To cancel a membership, e-mail keelee@crossfitstrengthhaven.com with your requested termination date and a confirmation that you understand that you will be charged the cancellation fee.
